Flooring and Drywall, Including Smoke-Damaged Walls
Wood, tile and vinyl flooring, plus drywall replacement where smoke, soot or water have soaked in, and rated gypsum where the code asks for it.
When drywall has to go
Smoke odor and soot can stay in drywall and insulation long after a fire. Where cleaning does not remove it, we cut out the affected panels, replace the insulation and hang new board.
Fire-rated gypsum
Garages, attics and walls next to a unit often call for Type X gypsum board. We use it where the code requires it and where it adds protection.
Floors to suit the room
Hardwood, engineered wood, tile and luxury vinyl each fit different rooms. We level the subfloor first so the finish stays flat.
Flooring, Drywall & Interior Finishes: questions
Light soot sometimes can. If the odor stays after cleaning, the panels and the insulation behind them need replacing.
Tile, engineered wood and vinyl plank all work over concrete with the right underlayment.
Both. Small damage gets patched and blended. Larger areas get new panels to the nearest joint.
