A ceiling tile lifted at the start of the visit says more than the floor plan. In a Woodland Hills office or shop, what sits above the grid shapes the quote: duct runs, conduit, sprinkler lines and the height left for a new layout. Fernhill Builders then checks the electrical panel, measures the storefront opening as it stands, and prices the job from what was seen.

What gets opened and measured

The ceiling comes first, since a duct or a sprinkler main in the wrong place can force a partition to move. Next is the panel, where we count open breaker spaces and read the labels against what is wired. Then the floor is checked for level, and the slab is probed where a new restroom might need a drain. Each measurement goes on a sketch that becomes part of the written scope, with photos of what was found above the grid.

The storefront opening

The glass opening is measured at the top, middle and bottom, because frames are seldom perfectly square and a pane ordered from the plan can arrive wrong. We look at the sill for rot or rust, at the anchors holding the frame, and at the door swing against the sidewalk. Anything damaged is described in the quote, so the glazing price covers a sound frame as well as the panes. The sidewalk side is checked as well, since the door swing must clear it.
